SRO performs DAVID BOWIE

Gesa Power House Theatre (Walla Walla, WA)
Saturday May 3rd, 2025 • 7pm

Join us for a special retrospective of David Bowie's 50+ year career as a music legend! Seattle Rock Orchestra's program begins with a reflection on Bowie's early career from 1969-1974, largely on his glamarific 'Ziggy Stardust' era, featuring large swathes of his 1971 breakout album Hunky Dory, and 1972's masterpiece The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. After an intermission, SRO switch gears into full-on party mode as they perform his most danceable songs—from the 'plastic soul' of 1975's Young Americans, through his reinvigorated reign as an 80's pop icon. And, as a meditation on his legacy, the orchestra will take advantage of their full spectrum of tone colors, occasionally punctuating the evening with plaintive orchestral moments taken from his experimental 'Berlin Trilogy' years. Featuring the songs 'Life On Mars?,' 'Starman,' 'Let’s Dance,' 'Under Pressure,' 'Young Americans,' and many more, this is a program you won't want to miss!

Patsy Cline & Loretta Lynn

Jewel Box Theatre (Poulsbo, WA)
Sunday May 18th, 2025 • 2pm

Seattle Rock Orchestra pays homage to two country music trailblazers: Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. Both friends and contemporaries, Cline popularized the “Nashville Sound” and reached new technical and expressive heights in country singing, while Lynn challenged audiences with lyrics that were fearlessly autobiographical and often controversial for the time. Come delight in this afternoon of classic country sounds, as we celebrate these two titans of music with an intimate show featuring vocalists Annie Jantzer and Kate Dinsmore, accompanied by string quartet and rhythm section.

Featured songs include “Crazy,” ” Fall to Pieces,” “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind),” and many more.
