SRO VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP

Seattle Rock Orchestra summer camps are going virtual! *robot dance*

While online learning is certainly no substitute for the visceral experience of playing in a large ensemble, SRO is making the best of the times and adapting so we can continue to meet your summer music education needs. We get it ... "Zoom fatigue" is real. That's why SRO Virtual Summer Camp will be easily digestible and carefully formulated for maximum FUN!

Virtual Summer Camp participants will:

  • Play songs from across pop and rock music history, including recent radio bangers and classic jams from the past. Our 2020 repertoire will be comprised entirely of songs by BIPOC artists.

  • Receive instruction in songwriting and music production techniques for music making in a digital world

  • Participate in group projects and collaborations

  • Work with outstanding local music educators, including Artistic Director & Founder Scott Teske,  Music Director & Conductor Kim Roy, and other mentors from Seattle Rock Orchestra.

Virtual summer camp is open to students in (or entering) middle and high school who sing or play strings, woodwinds, brass, drums/percussion.

All participants must be able to read music, and must have at least two years of experience in their school music program or with private lessons prior to the start of the program.
